Mathematics

The school employs a Leading Teacher with the exclusive role as Head of Teaching and Learning. Our Leading Teacher ensures that our students are taught mathematics based on the evidence provided in high-quality research.

In Mathematics, this means that all students are taught to be as numerate as possible using a developmental learning progression, designed for our students. This requires a strong focus on Number, while ensuring explicit teaching of the other areas of Mathematics in the Victorian Curriculum. Students access these systems of learning until they enter the senior school and begin applying these skills in ‘real-world’ and employment programs.
